More street portraits from the village in Ningbo. I’ve entered a new stage in this project because in early May I printed a photo book with all of the images I had shot and distributed the book to everyone in the village who had allowed me to take their portrait. This created an incentive for new people to have their portraits taken – for Volume 2.
The lady below is 92 years old and asked me to take her portrait for her funeral. She had already selected a frame for the photo and wanted me to shoot an appropriate portrait. I had already taken her photo once, but I didn’t like the exposure, so I took a couple of new images for her to choose from.
All photos were taken with the medium format Mamiya 6 (50mm lens) and Portra 400 fim.
