After an awful first trip to Tokyo with my son in 2023 (Covid!) I returned twice in 2024 and had amazing experiences both times. It was crazy-hot during the August trip, but the weather during the October trip was perfect. The only disappointment was that there was no snowcap on Mt. Fuji. It was the first time in history it didn’t snow at the peak during October! I only did a little camera shopping in Shinjuku (new Leica lens), but binge-shopped for Fuji film & developer during the October trip.

The October trip included a lot of bar-hopping in the evenings, including jazz bars, a photography-themed bar, and a small bar owned and operated by monks (complete with chanting!). All photos below are analog film photos using a Hasselblad Xpan, Leica M7 or Contax G2 camera.
