I decided to merge my new love for my 85mm f1.8 lens with a video project for work, so I compiled a collection of video clips into a “How it’s Made” video about making knives in Yangjiang, China. One of our factories was gracious enough to give me free rein of their facility to video the various processes. The f1.8 lens’ shallow depth of field helps give the video an art-like quality and helps disguise the cluttered factory environment.
I was involved in video production years ago, but I had to walk away because it’s not a good hobby for an OCD designer. There are WAY too many choices in the editing process. This video is a simple edit that I created in one day – then walked away.
