Holy crap, there was a ton of smog on this trip. There was a dense cloud hanging over my stops in Shanghai, Guangzhou and Hong Kong. While I was in China the pollution in Beijing was off the charts. Maybe the Chinese New Year holiday next week will help reduce the problems China is experiencing. I brought a tripod with me on this trip specifically so I could take some night shots from the Peak, which overlooks Hong Kong harbor. There was a brief period of sunshine after we arrived on Saturday afternoon, but unfortunately later you could barely see the Peak through the haze, so I had to scrap the night photos. We spent a few hours shopping at the street market in Mong Kok. I broke out the fisheye lens to get some ultra-wide shots of the crowds and shops. It seemed like everyone in Hong Kong was out shopping for Chinese New Years gifts on Sunday.
