吉姆 JIM HOFMAN | Photography Faces & places in China

Ningbo 8.18

Ningbo was incredibly hot in August.  I visited the Tianyi Ge ancient library twice to take some photos on the grounds.  This is the oldest library in China that dates back to the 1500’s.

We also stopped at one of the “old streets” for lunch at a dumpling restaurant.  After lunch, I asked the owners if I could make their portraits – which they agreed to.  I also took a photo of a small shrine they had made to China’s President Xi Jinping.  There was a small red tassel obscuring the plate and the owner immediately held it up so I could take the photo.  I think the arm in the photo adds to the allegory of the image.
